Roy Harrison

Roy was a High Greener born and bred. Next to the youngest of eight children he lived in the family home at Westwood Side. He married Elizabeth Hurt (Betty) from Crane Moor in 1950 and had two daughters. Roy had a few trades, as a miner and a bricklayer but his happiest time was being the landlord of the Market Inn in High Green for 20 years. His Ward's beer was quite famous! Roy and Betty then moved to Thurgoland and after Betty's death in 2018, Roy went to Burton on Trent to live with his daughter Kathryn.
Roy is survived by his sister Clarice, two daughters Kathryn and Elaine, grand-daughters Ines and Julia, and great-grandchildren Bernat and Matilda.
